200 Mbps home network using your power lines
Billion’s new 2072 HomePlug AV 200 Ethernet Bridge with AC Pass Through now enables South African users to extend the capabilities of their home network by transferring data, voice, video, audio or broadband Internet at up to 200 megabits per second (Mbps) with their existing power lines.
Available from Nology the Ethernet Bridge can be used to bridge any Ethernet device such as modems, routers and PCs, enabling users to share network access via existing in-home power lines.
"One of the key differentiators of the Billion Ethernet bridge is its ease-of-use and installation. For one, home users don’t have to install expensive Ethernet cables throughout their home networks. Indeed it is as easy as simply plugging in your networking devices, pressing the Sync button on the bridge, and using your home’s electrical wiring to enjoy the benefits that come with Ethernet communications, explains Pierre Holtzhausen, channel manager at Nology.
"The bridge is not only limited to wired communications. By installing a wireless access point, or using your WiFi-enabled modem, you can also set-up a wireless network by again using your bridge and existing power lines."
Featuring the latest evolution in the HomePlug AV standard, AV 200, the bridge supports data speeds of up to 200 Mbps which is suitable for high-definition home networks and multimedia.
