Google SA hiring

Google has long said that Africa is a strong growth area for the company, and in late 2007 the company opened a South African office.  Stafford Masie was the first Google SA country manager, but was replaced last year by Stephen Newton.

In 2009 the Google South Africa office, based at The Campus in Bryanston, had a staff compliment of only eight people.  This may however change as the company is advertising two new positions in South Africa.

Google is currently looking for new employees:  Country Marketing Manager, an Account Strategist and an Agency Relationship Manager.  The local Google office is strongly focused on advertising sales, and it is therefore not surprising that the company is looking to increase its sales capacity in South Africa.

Google is also looking for business development associates in Accra, Dakar and Kampala and is advertising for a Geographic Supervisor in Nairobi.  The geographic supervisor will form part of a project aimed at developing electronic mapping data of several cities across Africa by utilizing Google Maps technology.
