New Hetzner MD announced
Deon de Villiers has recently been announced as Hetzner’s new Managing Director. Deon will head up the well known hosting company alongside Executive Chairman Hans Wencke.
De Villiers is an experienced IT professional who started his career with Pep Application Software and Consulting after graduating from the Cape Technikon in 1992. He then moved to Metropolitan Life as an Oracle DBA / Unix Systems administrator and in 1998 Deon travelled to London where he worked for a period of three years before returning to South Africa and Metropolitan Life.
In 2001 De Villiers joined Hetzner as its Technical Manager, responsible for overseeing the stability and growth of Hetzner’s network infrastructure. He has played an instrumental role in overseeing the management of Hetzner’s network in order to provide customers with a trusted reliable and scalable infrastructure.
In his current role as Managing Director there will be a strong focus on product development, the company said.
