Intel rearranges top level management
Intel is set to announce a management change at the beginning of business on Monday, according to a New York Times report. Pat Gelsinger, senior vice president in charge of Intel’s enterprise group, will be leaving the fold after 30 years.
Gelsinger will be joining storage company EMC, where he will head up the storage products operations and manage certain software units.
Sean Maloney, current head of sales and marketing is soon to be in charge of all major Intel chip divisions, such as PC, server and graphics chips. Maloney is also considered to be the likely replacement for CEO Paul Otellini.
Dadi Perlmutter, current head of the laptop chip division, will soon oversee the engineering for all chip divisions. More details are expected to emerge when Intel makes an official announcement.
