Top electronics and computing shops named
The 2009 The Times & Sowetan Top Retail Awards winners were announced recently, showing which retail stores are the most popular and how happy customers are with a certain retail brand.
The Top Retail Grand Prix Award, which is based on the scores of all the retail brands, was won by KFC, with Edgars taking second place and Shoprite third.
In the Electronics, Computer and Gadgets category Game came in first, followed by Hi-Fi Corporation, Makro, Incredible Connection and Dion. Other contenders including Dion Wired, Apple iStore and BTGames attracted too small a sample for meaningful results.
According to Debbie Booth from TNS Research – the research firm which conducted the 2009 The Times & Sowetan Top Retail Awards – not a single specialist and computer technology store made it into the top three. “Specialist computer shops simply don’t have enough shops to build their usage number among consumers,” said Booth.
