HTC's 2010 roadmap leaked
Reports have surfaced that mobile phone manufacturer HTC’s roadmap for the first half of 2010 has been leaked online. The forecast contains detailed information regarding the company’s ies release plans for next year and is accompanied by several device images.
The leak gives details behind eight previously unconfirmed device models which have been divided into four categories according to features and market positioning.
Although local HTC distributors Leaf International could not confirm the existence of these devices the following information is currently available online.
HTC Legend
The Legend has been positioned as the successor to 2009’s popular HTC Hero. It will reportedly feature an 11.4mm metallic frame, a 3.2” AMOLED touchscreen, an optical mouse track pad for interface navigation, HTC’s Sense software, a 5 Megapixel camera and will run on Google’s Android mobile operating system.
The Legend is expected to be released in March 2010.
HTC Salsa
The HTC Salsa, at only 8.6mm high, will certainly be one of the smallest releases yet from the manufacturer if this information proves true. It will reportedly feature a 2.6” inch touchscreen, full QWERTY keyboard, a 528MHz Qualcomm processor, a 3.2 Megapixel camera and will run on the Android platform.
The Salsa is expected in June 2010.
HTC Bravo
The Bravo will reportedly fall under HTC’s ‘performance’ category and should feature a 3.7” inch touchscreen, a 5 Megapixel HD camera capable of recording in 720p format, 16GB of MicroSD memory and Google’s Android platform.
The Bravo will allegedly be released in April.
HTC Buzz
The HTC Buzz is due to feature a 3.2” inch touchscreen, a 5 Megapixel camera with face to face tagging, Android OS and will use replaceable covers to allow for differing designs.
The Buzz is due to be part of HTC’s ‘social’ category and will be released in May.
HTC Tide
The Tide will reportedly include a standard numeric keyboard and a 2.68” inch touchscreen for interface navigation and will also feature a 3.2 Megapixel camera with autofocus, a 528MHz Qualcomm processor and a 3.5mm audio jack.
The Tide will be released in April.
HTC Photon
The HTC Photon will feature a 3.2” inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen, a 5 Megapixel camera with autofocus, a 600MHz Qualcomm processor and will operate on Windows Mobile 6.5.
The Photon, which falls under HTC’s ‘productivity’ category, will reportedly be released in April.
HTC Tera
The HTC Tera will feature a slide out QWERTY keyboard which will be hidden beneath a 3” inch resistive touchscreen – in a similar fashion to Nokia’s N97. It will also feature a 3.2 Megapixel camera and a Motion G sensor.
The Tera, which will also run on Windows Mobile 6.5, is due to be released in April.
HTC Trophy
The HTC Trophy will feature a 3” inch capacitive touchscreen and a QWERTY keyboard as well as a 5 Megapixel camera, a 600MHz Qualcomm processor and a business card reader.
The Trophy will operate on Windows Mobile 6.5 and is due to be released in May.
