BlackBerry Bold 9700 now in SA

Research In Motion (RIM) today announced availability of the sleek and powerful BlackBerry Bold 9700 smartphone in South Africa.  The BlackBerry Bold 9700 features 3G support, a 624 MHz processor, 256 MB Flash memory, built-in GPS and Wi-Fi and a 3.2MP camera.

“The BlackBerry Bold 9700 smartphone builds on the success of the original model with new, top-of-the-line features in a smaller and lighter design,” said Deon Liebenberg, regional director for Sub-Sahara Africa at Research In Motion.

• Available in UMTS/HSDPA 2100/1900/850/800 MHz and quad-band EDGE/GPRS/GSM
• Removable, rechargeable 1500 mAhr battery that provides approximately 6 hours of talk time and 17 days of standby time in 3G mode
