Cell C and Teraco partner
Cell C today announced that it has appointed Teraco Data Environments to fulfill its data centre requirements in support of its rollout of its new R5bn nationwide 4G network.
Teraco currently has two global data centre facilities – one in Cape Town and the other in Johannesburg. Both of these facilities will be used by Cell C as part of its network expansion and upgrade plans for 2010 and beyond.
The appointment of Teraco follows Cell C’s announcement last week that it had signed a R2.9bn deal with Chinese telecom provider ZTE Corporation. Cell C will very shortly announce the appointment of the second vendor that will carry out the remaining part of the nation-wide rollout.
