Free mobile GPS software
Phoneit GPS, a location-based services company who provide mobile information systems, announced that is has launched ‘amAze’, a free mobile mapping, navigation and local search solution for regular mass-market cell phones.
Phoneit is offering consumers a free mobile navigation and mapping application based on the emerging ad-funded business model. Income from amAze is generated through advertisements and sponsorships that are intelligently integrated into the application, such as location sensitive ads displayed to the user, based on his/her location.
“Any advertising displayed while using the application aims to improve the user experience and deliver valuable money savings and special offers,” says David Lehman, Director at Phoneit.
“amAze is truly unique as we offer a free service to consumers,” continues David, “it only requires a one time, simple software download to the mobile phone, the amAze navigation product is completely free for the consumer. Complete voice-guided navigation can be achieved when the phone is paired with a Bluetooth GPS receiver.”
The Bluetooth GPS receiver is a necessary addition for mobile phone users without GPS systems built into their phones. The device should be available within the next few days at a cost of around R 500-00.
