Vodacom BEE lawsuit unsuccessful

An urgent application was brought in the High Court, Witwatersrand Local Division by the Tiger Consortium against the Vodacom Group.

The presiding judge dismissed the Tiger Consortium’s application with costs of two counsel. The application was dismissed in regards to the matter of urgency and the matter of non-joinder.

“We are satisfied with the ruling and we can now continue with the BEE transaction as originally envisaged. Fortunately today’s events have not delayed the transaction in any way. We wish to reiterate that our staff and black business partners will not be prejudiced in any way,” says Dot Field, Chief Communications Officer, Vodacom Group.
