iPhone in SA on 22 August?

One of the best kept secrets is the official launch date of the iPhone in South Africa, but Apple COO Tim Cook may have given some idea as to when to expect it from Vodacom.

According to Cook – who spoke to analyst about Apple’s financial results – Apple plans to launch the iPhone 3G in 20 additional countries by August 22.

Apple launched the iPhone 3G in 21 countries in July 11, and France was next to sell the device a week later.

According to Macworld Apple has reported strong demand for the device, tallying 1 million units sold in its first weekend of release.
