Blackberry App World for SA?
Research in Motion, otherwise known as RIM announced the launch of the Blackberry App World today. This new, on-device application store for Blackberry will give users the ability to download a multitude of applications for personal and business use on their respective devices.
The Blackberry App World will include a range of features such as the front page carousel which will make it easy for users to browse through a number of featured applications, a top downloads sections and several categories which will include the likes of entertainment, games, maps and more.
The Blackberry app store jumps on the trend that Apple set with the iPhone in late 2007 and is in keeping with other handset manufacturers such as Nokia which recently released Ovi, an application store and online site for Nokia users.
Unfortunately the Blackberry App World is only due to be released in the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada for the time being although Blackberry has announced plans to expand into other countries in the near future. There is no set date for Blackberry App World to be rolled out to South African consumers.
