Intel and iBurst’s iGame have teamed up to launch the “Intel Annihilator” gaming league.
The pre-season of the Intel Annihilator league will start on November 1st and will run until the 20th of December 2008. The main league season is to be hosted in 2009.
This is the first online league that will be hosted through the partnership which aims to bring the South African Gaming community an online league for clans and provide a competitive infrastructure for national level rankings. The partnership between Intel and iGame will allow local gamers to compete in a top tier hosted tournament season.
Thami Mtshali CEO of iBurst says, “iBurst has hosted successful online tournaments every month this year and our partnership with Intel is proof that we are passionate and dedicated to creating a platform for gamers to compete at such a high level.”
The online league is open to all Call of Duty 4 players that play for a clan. Five players are required per clan, with entries open to all for the pre-season league.
The best performing clan will walk away with prizes consisting of Intel sponsored CPUs and Motherboards.
"Intel has been supporting gaming in South Africa for many years and are very excited to make the move to include online gaming sponsorships as well",  Gary Burgess, Channel Marketing manager for Intel South Africa.
