Power problems continue

A technical problem at a switching station in Kelvin has caused power outages in the north eastern suburbs of Johannesburg, a spokesperson said on Monday.

"We have a technical problem at the Kelvin switching station, next to the Kelvin power station. As a result, we do not have power supply to five sub-stations in the north eastern areas of Johannesburg," said city power spokesperson Louis Pieterse.

This meant that sub stations at Gresswold, Orchards, Bellevue and Observatory were without power.

Power should be restored around noon on Monday, Pieterse said.
