Widescreen and Dolby trial on DStv on Demand
DSTV’s premium customers have for some time enjoyed access to DStv’s Video On Demand service called DStv on Demand. The DSTV on Demand service currently offers approximately 20 hours of content each month which includes movies, sport, series and specials.
This content is sent to the user’s PVR which can then be viewed at a time which is convenient to them.
MultiChoice is now trialing Widescreen and Dolby Digital audio on its DSTV on Demand service to assess the feasibility of offering this type of service in future.
"The tests were done to establish if the quality of these two options were in line with MultiChoice’s standards," said MultiChoice’s external communications manager Marilyn Watson.
There is no clear deadline for testing to conclude, but the company said that "as soon as quality and business viability testing has been completed, it will be communicated."
