Transcend introduces 2GB DDR2-800 Non-ECC unbuffered DIMM

They are said to have additional speed and bandwidth along with 2GB capacity to meet the requirements of hi-end computing.

Transcend's 2GB DDR2-800 Non-ECC Unbuffered DIMMs are claimed to be reliable in hi-end applications and 100% compatible with most current desktop computers, such as platforms based on Intel -915GV, 945G, 955X, 965, 975X chipsets, AMD – AM2 chipset, Apple G5 17" 1.9GHz, G5 20" 2.1GHz and more. They are also said to be fully compatible with Windows Vista.

Transcend says that its 2GB DDR2-800 Non-ECC Unbuffered DIMM uses six-layer PCBs to meet JEDEC (the Joint Electron Device Engineering Council) standards.

The 2GB DIMMs are made of 16 brand name 128Mx8 DDR2 FBGA chips. Each chip manufactured using the small FBGA packages to assure better thermal dissipation, electrical efficiency and overall computing quality, the company says.

Transcend says that it uses On-Die Termination (ODT) to minimise signal reflections at higher speeds, thereby improving timing margins and increasing operating speed.
