New iMac in SA in a few weeks
Apple has recently unveiled an all new iMac line featuring 20- and 24-inch widescreen displays encased in aluminum and glass enclosures.
The entire new iMac line features the latest Intel Core 2 Duo processors and a new, ultra-thin aluminum Apple Keyboard and a built-in iSight video camera for video conferencing.
Price cut
Apart from the upgrade, Apple has also announced a price cut on their iMacs. The 20-inch iMac now starts at just $1,199 – or R 8,443 – $300 less than the previous 20-inch model. The 24-inch iMac starts at just $1,799 – or R 12,669 – $200 less than the previous 24-inch model.
Core, which represents Apple Computer in South Africa, says that they new iMac range will be available in South Africa in the next few weeks, but that new pricing should be available much sooner.
According to Core they are in negotiations with suppliers and they hope to have pricing for the new iMac computers by Friday. Consumers are invited to visit the Apple or Core websites for more information.
