Gmail leaves Beta

Google yesterday announced that its popular mail service, Gmail has finally passed its beta stage. 

In a blog post by Gmail Product Director Keith Coleman he said that Google gets asked all the time why they keep their products in beta for so long.  “And Gmail, five years after launch, is consistently a subject of this questioning, even of jokes,” said Coleman.

Coleman said that the end result is that beta is a thing of the past. “Not just for Gmail, but for all of Google Apps — Gmail, Calendar, Docs, and Talk.”
