Snow Leopard update released

Apple released a large update to MacOS X Snow Leopard, bringing it to version 10.6.2. The update addresses a number of security issues and bugs, including the infamous glitch that caused user data to be deleted when using a guest account.

There are two versions of the update: a 479MB ‘combo’ patch that updates from version 10.6 and a 473MB patch that updates from version 10.6.1.

  1. An issue that might cause your system to logout unexpectedly
  2. A graphics distortion in Safari Top Sites
  3. Spotlight search results not showing Exchange contacts
  4. A problem that prevented authenticating as an administrative user
  5. Issues when using NTFS and WebDAV file servers
  6. The reliability of menu extras
  7. An issue with the 4-finger swipe gesture
  8. An issue that causes Mail to quit unexpectedly when setting up an Exchange server
  9. Address Book becoming unresponsive when editing
  10. A problem adding images to contacts in the Address Book
  11. An issue that prevented files downloaded from the Internet from opening
  12. Safari plug-in reliability
  13. General reliability improvements for iWork, iLife, Aperture, Final Cut Studio, MobileMe, and iDisk
  14. An issue that caused data to be deleted when using a guest account
