Opera Mini 5 beta now available for public testing

Opera Mini version 5 is now available for live public beta testing. The new version of the mobile browser offers compatibility with a number of new smart phones, which can take advantage of the new feature set offered.

Opera has developed a version specifically customised to work with BlackBerry phones. This version will offer functions such as copying and pasting, and opening hyperlinks.

Tabbed browsing has been added, allowing multiple browsing sessions to be open. The GUI is now designed to accommodate touch screen devices as well as traditional keypads. Visual speed-dial for website favourites takes advantage of larger phone displays.

A password manager is also included, which should help reduce the laborious task of entering passwords into websites viewed on a mobile phone. The browser boasts a 90% compression of web pages.
