Low end hosting price comparison
Broadband and Internet penetration rates in South Africa are steadily increasing, which means that the desire to have an online presence – either for personal or business use – is growing as well. While international hosting prices are still far more affordable than local hosting offerings, bandwidth prices in South Africa are starting to decrease.
Hetzner, Afrihost and Web Africa announced hosting bandwidth price cuts last year while Cybersmart launched a free local hosting service in an attempt to make local hosting more attractive. Axxess joined the local hosting fraternity with its R29 per month hosting service which includes PHP and MySQL support.
