Post Office wants to increase prices

According to a statement by the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) the South African Post Office (SAPO) has requested that the regulator approve a general price increase of 7 % on their fees and charges for implementation on 01 April 2008.

SAPO states that increases in operational costs, including transport, necessitate this price increase.

Announcements of ICASA’s decision on this application will be made in January 2008 and the approved tariffs to be published in the government gazette by 31 January 2008.

ICASA welcomed comment on the matter which can be e-mailed to [email protected] by 09 November 2007.
