Two names for ICASA Councilor position forwarded
The Communications Portfolio Committee finalized the recommended candidates for the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa councilor position.
Mr Thembikile Ndlovu and Mr Refiloe Msiza were recommended to the Minister of Communication for appointment. Mr Pieterse, and ANC MP, recommended Mr Thembikile Ndlovu as well as Mr Refiloe Msiza on behalf of the ANC as their preferred ICASA councillors.
Ms Dene Smuts from the Democratic Alliance named Mr Mbulelo Kibido as the Democratic Alliance’s preferred ICASA councilor, but despite arguing the merits of Mr Kibido his name was not forwarded to the Minister for consideration for the position.
The ICASA Councilor position became vacant after councilor Mamodupi Mohlala left the regulator to take up a position with the National Credit Regulator earlier this year.
