Neotel roll out more fibre

Neotel is the first national infrastructure-based competitor to Telkom in the fixed line telecoms sector in South Africa.

Neotel launched its metro-Ethernet network, NeoMetro Link, on Tuesday which would ensure readiness for installations for its customers in Gauteng and Durban, it said in a statement.

“NeoMetro Link is offered as a dedicated, point-to-point and point-to-multipoint, fully converged solution, offering connectivity between customer sites within the same metropolitan area as well as access to Neotel’s bouquet of IP [Internet Protocol] based services,” it said.

To date, the company has rolled out between 12 000km and 13 000km of optic fibre across the country.
