Telkom exposes corporate contracts

A glitch in one of Telkom’s servers has exposed many of the company’s corporate contracts to public scrutiny.

These include interconnection agreements between Telkom and Cell C, an SAP-Telkom contract and details of the relationship between Thintana Communications and Telkom.

The documents, in PDF format, are hosted on a telkom.co.za server and, despite being labelled "secure" and using HTTPS, allows many of the PDF documents to be viewed by everyone.

The contract between "Telkom SA Limited, Thintana Communications LLC, SBC International Management Services Inc. and Telkom Management Service SDN. BHD" for example includes appendices outlining annual payments to US and Malaysian personnel over three to five year periods.

The problem was first picked up on local mailing lists yesterday and remains open to public viewing.
