Telkom says no security breach
Telkom has said that there was in fact no breach of its security in exposing corporate contracts to public viewing as reported this morning.
Nicola White, Telkom’s group executive for investor relations says that "no glitch occurred in any of Telkom’s servers, as these are documents that we were required to disclose in terms of our New York Stock Exchange listing requirements, specifically being attachments required to be submitted with the annual report filing on Form-20F and is therefore documents available to the public."
White says that all the documents are available on the company’s Investor Relations website.
"In the interest of our stakeholders Telkom has in place policies and procedures governing the disclosure of information publicly. It is noteworthy that no one was compromised by this information."
