Vodacom fibre live soon
Vodacom last year announced that it would be investing in its own fibre network. This fixed line network investment will both serve the company’s own transmission needs and give its new first-tier ISP, Vodacom Business, the ability to provide converged service to corporate clients.
Vodacom said that it was now already carrying some traffic over its fibre network and that two of its fibre rings – one in Johannesburg and one in Pretoria – will be completed on June 15.
Vodacom Business’ Wally Beelders is confident that the quality of the fibre network, superior security and the ability to bundle a full range of telecoms and IT services will allow the company to provide an unbeatable value proposition.
Beelders pointed out that the company’s fibre network was built “inside” roads with very secure access points, providing both Vodacom Business and the companies it serves with peace of mind when it comes to security.
