Telkom CEO makes millions

Telkom recently filed its annual report for the year ended 31 March 2008 with the Securities Exchange Commission on Friday 18 July 2008. 

This documentation contains a wide variety of financial and shareholding information, including the remuneration of Telkom top management.

According to the information the cash and non-cash compensation paid by Telkom to its executive and non-executive directors in the year ended March 31, 2008 totaled R35 803 970.

Non-executive directors earned a total of R4 632 933 while two executive directors – ex-CEO Papi Molotsane and current CEO Reuben September – earned R31 171 037.

Telkom’s current CEO, Reuben September, received a total compensation of R19 108 837 over the last year. This was made up of a basic salary of R2 453 757, a performance bonus of R3 436 308 and benefits totaling R13 218 772.
