HD PVR bug fix update

Multichoice announced that its HD PVR software update has been approved and will be released to subscribers today.

The initial HD PVR system was riddled with bugs, prompting subscribers to start their own WiKi listing the problems to assist MultiChoice in their fault resolution process.

MultiChoice promised consumers that they will address these problems, and this software update is the first step in eliminating the known bugs. According to the company the update will address many of the problems associated with the HD PVR decoder and increase stability and performance.

Among the issues which will be addressed by the bug-fix release are the random loss of recordings, problems when using the standby option, the incorrect allocation of channel numbers and random loading of SuperSport Active.

The new software further promises to improve the performance of fast forward/rewind and provide greater stability.

Multichoice said that this is only a first step and that their technical team is “hard at work on the next release of software.”
