SET added to DSTv Compact
Sony Entertainment Television, also known by the abbreviation SET, has now been extended to the Compact Bouquet on DSTv. This will mean that first run shows such as The Amazing Race, Leverage and The Late Show with David Letterman will now be available to a wider audience in South Africa.
“We are pleased to add Sony Entertainment Television (SET) to our DStv Compact bouquet. We believe the addition of SET will further contribute to the popularity and entertainment value of the bouquet” said Alleta Alberts, General Manager of content at Multichoice.
The compact bouquet, which was launched in February 2005 with just 13 channels, now carries over 35 channels and carries a monthly subscription fee of R219 per month.
From 6 May SET will span Sub Saharan Africa when it is added to both the Compact and Premium bouquets within the area. This will bring the total viewership of SET throughout Africa to 2 million.
SET was launched exclusively in South Africa on the Premium bouquet in November 2007 as a general entertainment channel aimed at the 18 – 49 market. SET is currently available in over 90 countries, reaching a total of over 90 million households.
