MultiChoice to remove some DSTV iTV services
MultiChoice recently announced that it will discontinue some of the interactive services on DSTV. These include Roer Resepte, Horoscopes, KidsWise Games, SMS2TV Games, Carte Blanche, Fin 24, Beeld, Golf Handicaps, Casino Games, PlayJam Games, Poker Channel (both the interactive and video content) and Telly Track.
According to MultiChoice these interactive services are underutilized and discontinuing them will provide the pay-TV provider with the necessary bandwidth to launch other services and products.
MultiChoice did not provide specific details about the potential new services yet but they did say that are currently evaluating a range of new products and services which they will communicate to their customers in due course.
The underutilized interactive services will be phased out between July and November 2009.
