iBurst cuts prices
iBurst will launch a new pricing model in April that will show savings on both its wireless broadband packages and booster bandwidth.
The new pricing model sees the number of packages being reduced from the current 12 offerings to only 7 offerings in a quest for iBurst to ‘simplify its business’.
Low end prices
The low end of the market will be served with iBurst’s FreeFlo service allowing for 10 MB of usage per month at no cost. iBurst will retain its R 49-00 Kickstart service which allows for 40 MB of monthly usage.
iBurst’s Playa package will supply users with 500 MB of monthly usage for R 149-00 while R 199-00 will buy a subscriber 1 GB of usage.
These costs are lower than the previous R 195-00 for 400 MB and R 369-00 for 1.2 GB of monthly usage.
Higher end offerings
On the higher end of the market iBurst has 3 different packages, namely Pro, Xtreme and Addict options.
iBurst Pro offers 3 GB of usage for R 449-00 per month while the Xtreme package gives 5 GB of bandwidth for R 599-00. The largest package called Addict allows for 10 GB of monthly usage at a price of R 999-00 per month.
These prices are significantly lower than the current R 469-00 for 1.5 GB of bandwidth and R 599-00 for 3.5 GB of monthly usage. A throttled 64 Kbps service is still available on the higher end packages once a subscriber has reached their monthly usage limit.
Booster bandwidth
iBurst will also be reducing the price of their booster bandwidth packages in April.
The wireless provider will cut the price of its Booster100 package, offering 100 MB of usage, from R 89-00 to R 79-00 while the cost of the Booster500 offering will be cut from R 189-00 to R 149-00.
The price for both the Booster1000 and Booster 3000 packages remains unchanged at R 199-00 and R 499-00 respectively.
