iBurst launches new website

iBurst’s revamped website was launched today with the promise that fewer clicks would be required to navigate the wireless broadband provider’s online presence.

“We’ve cut out the clicks to help simplify life on the information superhighway in the same way companies commit themselves to plain English campaigns or consolidate their product range,” said Thami Mtshali, CEO of iBurst.

Also cutting down on the number of index finger taps required to manage one’s wireless broadband experience is the fact that subscribers now need to logon only once to access multiple sections of the site. Web surfers requiring access to ISP services and email would be required to logon again for those services.

In addition, the newly introduced myBurst section of iBurst.co.za presents subscribers with a single view of their accounts.

myBurst provides the subscriber with information relating to their choice of contract, value-added services, the amount of data downloaded and more. Subscribers are also able to use myBurst to subscribe to value-added services and certain additional applications.

“During testing a significant number of people felt the revamped website was exceptionally user-friendly and they especially enjoyed the Wizard tool which helps people determine their wireless broadband needs so they select the most appropriate package,” said Mr Mtshali.

The old website was receiving a considerable number of unique visitors per day and iBurst is convinced the redesign will lift that figure substantially.

All the popular features of the previous design remain and these include the contact iBurst’s pages, the speed test enabling Internet users to determine how fast they are surfing the web, the real-time iBurst coverage map and the network status report.

“We’ve also condensed the content as experience shows that people navigate away from content-heavy websites,” concluded Mr Mtshali.
