IS clears up port 25 ADSL blocking concerns
Rumors recently started surfacing online that Internet Solutions (IS) was planning to block port 25 on its ADSL network, forcing subscribers to use a custom port for their email needs.
This raised concerns among both consumers and systems administrators, but IS was quick to debunk these rumors and clarified exactly what was happening.
According to the company port 25 will definitely not be blocked globally on its network. The company did however block port 25 access on DSL accounts which have been reported for spam and have already had an IP blacklisting.
IS says that only clients who have sent spam are impacted by this intervention, adding that this policy has been in place for over a year already.
