Telkom ADSL access price under review

Telkom is reviewing the price of Digital Subscriber Line access and normal phone line rental, spokespeople for the company have confirmed.
This comes after Telkom’s wholesale division announced major price cuts to a number of its products, including the wholesale DSL service IP Connect.
Managing director of Telkom wholesale services Prenesh Padayachee said the prices for their copper-based products are under review, and Telkom will hopefully be able to reveal reviewed prices in the next few months.
With analogue line rental prices set to increase by 14% on 1 May, Telkom chief technology officer Alphonzo Samuels said there is a wholesale-retail split in Telkom, and its retail division sets line rental prices.
Samuels added that they are reviewing the whole ecosystem, though, normal phone line rental prices included.
He said they wanted to make an announcement regarding line rental and access fees along with the other price cuts, but reviewing all products has been a complex exercise.
