Telkom recently launched its new 50GB broadband bundles for R699 across four broadband technologies – fibre-to-the-home, ADSL, LTE, and LTE-Advanced.
The FTTH, LTE, and LTE-A deals compare favourably with competing products in the market.
However, the 10Mbps DSL service with a 50GB data allowance seemed to have increased from R585 to R699 per month.
Telkom has now provided clarity on this – the R699 price for its 10Mbps ADSL product includes the compulsory R189 line rental which was not previously included in the price.
“Existing customers have been paying R585 plus the standard line rental of R189 which is a total of R774 on the same product,” said Telkom spokesperson Jacqui O’ Sullivan.
“With the new promotion both existing and new customers will pay R699 on the 10Mbps ADSL service with 50GB which includes standard telephone line rental. This basically means that customers will be saving R75 per month,” she said.
The following table gives an overview of how Telkom’s new 10Mbps ADSL deal stacks up against competing services.
