Telkom ADSL 1 million barrier broken

Telkom has released its financial results for the year ended 31 March 2015, which show that it now has over 1 million ADSL subscribers.

Telkom had 1,005,286 ADSL subscribers as of 31 March, up from 926,944 a year earlier.

This growth bodes well for the company, which set out to lead the broadband market in South Africa.

In August 2014 Telkom unveiled its integrated broadband plan, which focused on user behaviour, the value proposition to its customers, and using the best technologies.

Through its integrated broadband plan, Telkom aimed to capture a large share of the consumer broadband market.

“Despite the high churn rates in our Consumer business, we grew our ADSL subscribers by 7.9 percent to 1,005,286,” Telkom said.
