New per GB static IP ADSL service

OpenWeb today announced the launch of its new Per GB Static IP solution aimed at both residential and business customers.

“The new packages allow users to make use of their own Routers but still be able to have a Static IP,” said Openweb founder Keoma Wright.

“To obtain a Static IP, users will dial into a PPTP VPN either via their VPN enabled routers or their Operating System on their PC.  Dialing in to the VPN is only necessary if the client wishes to make use of the Static IP.  If a user does not dial into the VPN, full internet access will still be available,” explains Wright.

The new static IP data packages from Openweb are priced as follows:

10GB – R629 – 1 Static IP – FULL Speed Access – Platinum ADSL Bandwidth

15GB – R874 –  1 Static IP – FULL Speed Access – Platinum ADSL Bandwidth

20GB – R1119 –  1 Static IP – FULL Speed Access – Platinum ADSL Bandwidth

30GB – R1579 –  1 Static IP – FULL Speed Access – Platinum ADSL Bandwidth

Wright explains that while two concurrent connections are allowed, only 1 connection will have access to the Static IP.  The second connection will be assigned a dynamic IP.

“Businesses do not necessarily need Uncapped bandwidth for their server applications. With our new Static IP solution, users can choose a base package and topup as they need to for R49 per GB. The bandwidth provided will be on the Platinum Business ADSL network, allowing for superior performance,” says Wright.
