Afrihost moving ADSL clients to new super-fast network

Afrihost CEO Gian Visser has announced that the ISP’s ADSL clients will be moved to its new insanely-high performance network on 21 October.

Visser said clients would not have to do anything, and that they will automatically be moved to the new ADSL network during the course of the day.

“We’ve learned (the hard way!) that things don’t always go according to plan. But be rest assured that our team will be watching this process very closely and will be ready to leap in where necessary,” said Visser about potential problems resulting from the move.

“If something unforeseen happens that requires you to make any changes, we’ll contact you immediately with some easy-to-follow steps. But I’m pretty confident that it won’t come to that.”

“If you do experience a DSL connectivity problem, please switch off your router/modem for a few minutes and then switch it on again.”

The launch of the new network follows Afrihost recently suffering major connectivity issues due to problems with its upstream provider, MTN.
