First 10 Mbps uncapped ADSL service emerges
Numerous 4 Mbps ADSL subscribers have been upgraded to 10 Mbps over the last few days. Telkom started their line speed upgrades last Friday, a process which is likely to continue until this weekend.
The upgrade to 10 Mbps were welcomed by ADSL users, but the benefits of the higher speeds are however not available to most uncapped ADSL subscribers whose speeds are limited to 4 Mbps by their ISP.
Good news is that the first 10 Mbps uncapped ADSL accounts are starting to emerge. Axxess today announced that their Axxess’ Uncapped Express+ accounts are now getting full line speeds after hours and weekends.
A 384Kbps Uncapped Express+ account retails for R899 per month, and will provide speeds of up to 384 Kbps during business hours and full speeds – hence up to 10 Mbps – after hours and over weekends.
“This service is best suited to users that require unrestricted but affordable ADSL access. People who don’t want to be restrained by monthly downloading caps,” Axxess said.
OpenWeb has also recently confirmed that their After Hours Uncapped accounts, which also start at a price point of R899, run at full speed after hours and over weekends.
