Telkom announces ADSL IPC price cuts

Telkom’s Openserve has announced IP Connect (IPC) price cuts, which are set to benefit Internet service providers and ADSL, VDSL, and Telkom FTTH subscribers.

IPC is a wholesale service which allows ISPs to offer ADSL, VDSL, and FTTH products using their own networks.

Telkom said the price reduction was its way of enabling ISPs to stay competitive, and also a means of stimulating growth in the fixed-broadband market.

The new pricing has 5 traffic volume levels, where the price reduction is based on the amount of bandwidth purchased. Pricing also goes down with multiple PoPs.

ISPs welcomed the IPC price cuts, saying it was a step in the right direction for Telkom to remain competitive.

Telkom was asked for details about the IPC price cuts, but the company did not respond by the time of publication.

The new IPC price cuts will kick in on 1 June 2016.
