Afrihost has extended its “18 hours of free Internet” promotion, which was due to end on 30 November.
The ISP said Capped DSL Data packages priced at R99 or more will continue to receive the unlimited Free-Time data for the month of December.
Subscribers who qualify will automatically be put on the extended plan, said Afrihost.
“Capped DSL Data packages of less than R99 a month will no longer get 18 hours of daily Free-Time from December,” said Afrihost.
Low-capped packages lose Free-Time
“The truth is we wanted to keep Free-Time going forever. For everyone. But we crunched the numbers and we simply cannot afford to do it,” said the company.
“For example, one of our clients (who pay us R29 per month) used over 3,300GBs of Free-Time in October alone. That’s less than R0.01 per GB!”
“This gives you an example of how difficult it is for us to keep offering Free-Time to everyone.”
Afrihost said it has not yet decided on what will happen to the Free-Time promotion in January 2017.
