Telkom has confirmed it will increase the prices of certain SoftCap Internet packages from 1 April 2017.
This comes after the company published its new tariff sheet for the year ahead – which included increased analogue line rental prices, from R189 to R199 per month.
SoftCap products which will receive a price increase are:
- Home SoftCap Lite (1GB) – will increase from R269 to R279 per month.
- Home SoftCap Basic (20GB) – will increase from R399 to R409 per month.
- Home SoftCap Advanced (40GB) – will increase from R549 to R559 per month.
New Uncapped product
Telkom also listed a new Home Uncapped Lite 1Mbps data-only service in its tariff document, which is priced at R159 per month.
Telkom spokesperson Jacqui O’Sullivan said in terms of uncapped price increases, only the Home Uncapped Basic 2Mbps service will go up – from R583 to R593 per month.
“All other Uncapped DSL bundle prices remain unchanged,” said O’Sullivan.
DSL Access Fees
While analogue line rental – which is a compulsory service for Telkom DSL users – has gone up, the company’s tariff list showed that ADSL line access fees are unchanged.
The table below details the pricing of the various DSL lines, in combination with the compulsory analogue line rental.
