ADSL price per Mbps comparison

Telkom has a wide range of fixed broadband products, ranging from its 1Mbps ADSL service to the 40Mbps VDSL service.

The price per Mbps has become a widely used global measure of the affordability of a broadband service, with organisations such as the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) using it as one of its core broadband measures.

In South Africa, Telkom’s 40Mbps VDSL service, priced at R795 per month, provides the best price per Mbps at R20/Mbps.

The following table provides an overview of the price per Mbps for all of Telkom’s fixed broadband (ADSL and VDSL) products.

It should be noted that only ADSL access costs (and not analogue line rental and ADSL ISP charges which form part of any ADSL service) was used for this comparison.
