Telkom ADSL speed upgrade dates
Telkom started to upgrade existing ADSL customers to higher line speeds on Monday 11 November 2013. 1Mbps, 2Mbps, and 4Mbps ADSL products are increased to 2Mbps, 4Mbps, and 10Mbps respectively.
Telkom said that the migration is taking place in a phased approach, with 4Mbps upgrades to 10Mbps happening this week.
2Mbps DSL subscribers will be bumped up to 4Mbps next week, with 1Mbps upgrades to 2Mbps starting in January 2014.
The delay in the 1Mbps upgrades are related to Telkom’s network freeze over the December 2013/January 2014 period.
The expected timeframe for each migration category is reflected in the table below.

| Up to 4,096 kbps/10,240 kbps | Up to 10,240 kbps | 11 November – 18 November 2013 |
| Up to 2,048 kbps | Up to 4,096 kbps | 18 November – 23 December 2013 |
| Up to 1,024 kbps | Up to 2,048 kbps | January 2014 – February 2014 |
