Telkom’s ADSL traffic: 20 Petabytes

Telkom released its interim results for the six months ended 30 September 2013, showing that it currently carries 19 Petabytes of ADSL data per month.

Over the last year Telkom grew its ADSL subscriber numbers by 6.7% – from 841,831 to 898,203.

The growth of data, however, far exceeded the growth of ADSL lines. Over the last year ADSL data grew by 64% – from 11,958 Terabytes (12 Petabytes) to 19,655 Terabytes (20 Petabytes) per month.

Telkom Internet subscribers showed a slight decline, down from 516,423 to 512,293. This is likely a result of increased competition in the ISP market.
