Free bandwidth to Facebook and Twitter
First National Bank’s (FNB) internet service provider, FNB Connect announced that access to Facebook and Twitter will be ‘zero rated’ for all FNB Connect data customers during certain hours.
“FNB Connect Surf data account users will, with immediate effect, be able to surf Facebook, Twitter and all FNB websites for free between 7pm and 11pm seven days a week without incurring data costs. This offer will run until the end of December 2009,” FNB Connect said in a press statement.
“Since our launch in May this year, we’ve listened to our customers as part of our brand promise of helpfulness and this is a gesture to reward them,” says Carmen Roux, CEO, FNB Connect.
“Social media sites have grown exponentially over the past few years. There are over 1.7 million unique South African users on Facebook with a growth rate of 96% over the past year. By offering free bandwidth to popular social media sites we believe that South Africans will find this offer socially stimulating. Not only are we ensuring cost savings, but we are helping our clients ‘Say hello for less’,” adds Roux.
