ADSL Pricing Comparison
Afrihost recently shook up the ADSL market with its below-cost R 29 per GB ADSL data bundles. This news follows numerous other announcements by Internet Service Providers (ISPs) about ADSL price reductions.
While some of the price cuts were directly related to lower international bandwidth rates from SEACOM, others seem to be a result of increased competition rather than lower wholesale pricing.
As the only ADSL infrastructure provider in the country Telkom still sets the de-facto pricing standard, and it remains a suitable benchmark to evaluate the relative cost of an ADSL service in relation to current market rates.
