In his current role, Dr Mabaso leads Altron’s group-wide technology function, product designs, and innovation strategies.

He is also heavily focused on AI and data analytics, and is committed to expanding the group’s platform ecosystem.

Dr Mabaso was previously the CEO of SITA and the CIO of Digital and Customer Journeys at Standard Bank CIB, before joining Altron Group.

He also spent over a decade at Transnet Engineering, where he worked as a senior engineer, a principal engineer responsible for software design, and the executive research manager.

Dr Mabaso holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Cape Town, a Master of Philosophy from the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business, and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Pretoria.
