Mastercard making checkouts faster
Mastercard has joined forces with Verifone and Global Payments to make consumer checkouts faster, thanks to the company’s M/Chip Fast technology.
M/Chip Fast prioritises the parts of a transaction critical to security to speed up checkout times.
Verifone will build the M/Chip Fast technology into its point-of-sales products deployed in the US.
These products are used by most of the top retailers and will help drive greater adoption of faster EMV technology.
EMV is a technical standard for smart payment cards and payment terminals, and ATMs that can accept it.
Global Payments will make the EMV technology available to merchants in the fast food, grocery, transit, and other retail environments.
